All changes you make to your system are reflected in the Windows Registry, regardless of how small they are. For someone with enough knowledge, the Registry can tell an entire story on what happened on the system, what applications were installed, what files have been modified and so on. If you want to see these changes yourself, RegistryChangesView can make it easier. The software is capable of comparing the current state of the Registry with a previous one and it can tell you what has changed.

RegistryChangesView is offered completely free of charge and it works on all popular Windows platforms. Downloading and installing the application is a quick and simple procedure, which shouldn't take more than a minute to complete. It doesn't ask for any special tools or services and its hardware requirements are modest.

The software works on a fairly simple principle, though you can't use it to see any changes from before you've installed it. First, you have to take a snapshot of your Registry. After performing actions that affect the Registry in any way, you can set the software to compare the current state of the Registry with the snapshot.

Setting everything up is quite easy. All you have to do is select what you wish to compare in two drop menus. You can compare the current Registry state with a snapshot or a shadow copy. Additionally, you can choose a direction for the comparison and you can also set the program to compare specific hives.

When everything is ready, it only takes a single click and a few seconds to populate the main user interface with the results. The software will display a long list of Registry keys, along with various details, like change type, value name and data and many others. Furthermore, you can bring up additional details about each key on a separate window and you can also export selected items to a .reg file.

Anything that happens in the system's Registry can be reflected in great details on RegistryChangesView's user friendly interface.

Pros

You can compare the current state of the Registry with snapshots and shadow copies. The software provides you with a large amount of information. Setting everything up is extremely easy.

Cons

There are no obvious drawbacks to mention.
